Overfalls Donation
Local artist Elizabeth "Liz" Anne Miceli has donated a matted, framed 11"x14" original painting of the Lightship Overfalls for sale in the ship’s store. She has also donated 11"x14" numbered prints, 5.5"x11" panoramic prints and sets of notecards.
A 15 percent off, end of season sale is currently underway through Monday, Oct. 15. The ship’s store is located next to the ship on the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal in Lewes. The store is open Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. through Sunday, Sept. 30. Then it is only open Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 15.
Miceli discovered various art forms as a young adult. Her first works were sculptures using found objects and turning them inside out. From there she discovered the world of digital photography and watercolor. As the owner of Elizabeth Anne GALLERY she has sold her works to private and commercial collections. Miceli was born in Pennsylvania and currently resides part time in there and in Rehoboth Beach.
Other samples of her art work can be viewed at www.elizabethannegallery.com.

The Story Behind the Donation
News Years Eve 2011 Liz attended an "anchor dropping" at the Overfalls ship, a floating lightship museum in Lewes, DE. She became interested in the effort to restore the ship and decided to paint a picture to be sold as a donation. The concept grew and on September 4, 2012 Liz presented the framed original and prints to be sold with all proceeds going to the Overfalls Foundation. Pictured here is Liz presenting the original to Foundation volunteers in front of the Ships Store.
